Decent product, but not for Dell XPS 1530 users January 5, 2009 Cody Bornsheuer (Champaign, IL) I got this item as a gift this holiday season. It is a solidly built, high-quality product. The fans are fairly quiet and it does create good airflow.
Unfortunately for me, the fans pulling heat from the bottom of the chassis are situated right under the air intake for my ventilation system, and I noticed my system getting warmer than usual, even under light use.
To be clear, this product pulls air from under the laptop and pushes it out the underside of the cooler. Dell XPS users would be advised to get a cooler like the Zalman NS-1000, which blows cold air on the bottom of them system.
Fortunately, it works great on my sister's system, so shes able to get some benefit from it.
Highly recommended, if the flow direction in appropriate for your system
both units I bought failed shortly after purchase January 4, 2009 Dave (SJ, CA) The connector on the left side of the unit is poorly made and soon becomes inoperative. I've had to pull the unit apart and solder the wire directly to the circuit board to fix the problem.
Reasonably quiet unit, when set to 'Low' speed.
. January 3, 2009 C This cooler does it job, I noticed a significant difference in the warmth of my laptop. It's blue light doesn't really bother me, and the sound of the fans are tolerable. However, after a few months of use, I find that the power cord doesn't work too well. The cord has to be pressed a certain way for it to stay on. VERY ANNOYING. Especially since I can't really tell whether it is on, with my laptop humming as well. Then the laptop overheats and crashes.
Great cooler, a must have for any one with a laptop January 1, 2009 Bryan This cooler is awesome, it does exactly what it says. It keeps my laptop cool and it matches with it so it makes it even look cool lol. I love this thing if your looking for a good cooler then this is it.....why are you still reading? BUY IT!!!.....DO IT NOW BEFORE THEY'RE ALL GONE!!!!
Easy December 29, 2008 D. Pinka (Chicago IL) Very easy to use. Very effective in keeping laptop cool. Reasonably priced. What more could you ask for?
