5 out of 5 stars Forget Using The Easy Link Installation CD   January 4, 2009
Salvatore J. Campo (Long Island, NY)
I spent an hour trying to get my Dell Laptop connected to the Linksys WRT54GS router, using the installation CD, and another unsuccessful hour on the phone with customer service, only to be cut off. I then went online, with my laptop wired to the router, to [..], then to the easy link, and within minutes was magically connected. IT WAS GREAT!!! My Dell D610 laptop works super fast using this router, with no glitches, or disconnects. I like it.

5 out of 5 stars Bought for Roku Player   December 28, 2008
SarahJo
I bought this wireless router so that I could use the Netflix Roku machine. It works great. I would recommend calling the help line when you install it. They have automated instructions to help you set it up which was better than the software it came with. Also, for some reason in the EasyLink Advisor it says that there is no internet connected but it is so I just ignore that message.

1 out of 5 stars Great! If you're a masochist!   December 27, 2008
Zoso (Washington)
Have had two of them. Why I put myself through the pain and suffering with a second one, I'll never know. I'll be buying a D-link next week to replace piece 'o trash #2. Sure, shelf life is meh, but at least I'll get a year or two without the headaches Linksys has given me.

Pro Tip: Avoid this like product like the plague.

5 out of 5 stars Setup is not difficult??   December 26, 2008
A. Jerue (Summerville, SC, USA)
I don't get how you guys can say setup was difficult. I just popped the setup CD into my computer and it explained EVERYTHING in great detail. My PC and CD did all the work for me, it required absolutely no knowledge from me about home networking. I was about to buy a Netgear WGR614 router but I'm very glad I purchased this, for only a couple more dollars where I got it. I get fast and good internet coverage on my PSP (wireless device) and my Xbox 360 (LIVE works flawlessly on this router and is approved by microsoft) and PC connect wired to the router, which also perform seamlessly. I recommend this router to anyone looking for a simple and affordable solution to set up a home network.

4 out of 5 stars good wireless transmission, fairly difficult set-up   December 24, 2008
Stephen C. Kistner (Columbia, CA United States)

top notch product, great transmission to second computer one floor away. Speed is excellent for G standard. The only problem, the set-up could have been easier, the directions required someone with minimal technical knowledge. As this was replacing a unit that was made by a different manufacturer, better instructions could have helped.
