Great scanner for the price January 4, 2009 A. Farrow This scanner is everything I need. I have so many negatives that have never been developed so with this it makes it easy for me to scan them and print out the photos. The only downside I found was that when scanning black and white developed negatives (like the kind you can develop yourself and not the color developed black and white negatives) the black and white is more of a brown and white. Other than that I love this scanner.
CanoScan Oh man! January 3, 2009 Hippie Chick (Katy, Texas) I have been searching for a way to get my parent's slides (from the 50s and 60s) onto my computer without spending a fortune. I did extensive research and found most products had disappointing reviews. When I found the Canon CanoScan 4400F I was somewhat reluctant to buy it, but I did. I set it up in minutes and was scanning the slides within 10-15 minutes. The scanner has a slot inside the lid which hold the slides and negatives in place. I scanned the negatives onto my computer and was so impressed with the results. The files were crisp and clear. I couldn't have asked for better pictures. I haven't used all the features, but I look forward to trying them out. I have a stack of photos and negatives to scan and I can't wait to see the results.

1 Year Later... January 1, 2009 S. James 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Pros: A year later and it still scans great. If you need a true high quality scan this is much better than most all-in-one printer/scanner/fax machines will give you. If you're just scanning documents to PDFs or OCR software, this scanner is probably overkill. The slide attachment is a nice bonus and the software is excellent. The Canon software I got with my Canon camera works with this scanner as well. Cons: It's anything but portable. I think it's little large for a modern day scanner, although the scan quality more than makes up for it's size. Also, it has a separate power supply (it's not USB powered). Both of these reasons will keep you from traveling extensively with it, but neither should keep you from purchasing it for your home or office.
pretty cool - have done color slides & photos not yet messed with film negatives December 30, 2008 lalouisianne (Phila, PA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
