not surviving wear & tear December 14, 2008

I have been using this jump drive for several months. I keep all of my documentation on it, so I'm frequently using it at work, plugging it into different computers & wearing it around my neck. The drive works well, moving files around quickly. The problem I have been encountering now is that the metal part that I stick into the USB slot on computers is coming loose or something...I have to be very careful to stick the drive in because I'm afraid it's going to break off. And if it does break off...I'm going to lose a lot of information! So now I'm going to buy another drive, hopefully one that can stand up to the wear & tear better.
But I do think this product has worked well, & I would buy it again if I didn't need to use it in different computers so often.

I've owned a Lexar 512MB Secure drive for quite some time that was filling up. I needed something bigger. This drive has ample space, respectable security, and a shape that suits me. So far its been as reliable as I would expect it to be.

I was looking for a secure device that I could store documents and pictures on that I would have available anywhere I might need them. The software is included on the device and has installed on the 5 different PCs that I have tried it on. By default you have access to the drive like any other usb drive but you can also mount your section of the drive to a letter on the PC when you plug it in as long as you use the password. I have not had a problem with the fact that you have to designate how much space you want when you create the partition since if it comes to it I could always pull everything out of it, delete it, and then create a new one even larger if I had to. Over all it has met all my expectitions, especially for $22.

This jump drive works just fine, but I would make some changes to the design. There is a hole on the lid for a string, but it should be on the body of the drive. It is trim enough to fit next to other USB devices on my laptop.
