Received writer in less than a week. Comes with CD of software to edit photos, make slideshow with music, and make DVD's. Everything I have used, mainly edit photos works very well and not to difficult to learn. Very happy with writer, at thirty some dollars this is one terrific bargain. Hats off to Pioneer for a great product.

Item was received in timely manner. It works good with my ASUS Eee PC901
With a LINUX operating system.

First of all, the drive would be recognized right away in Windows XP when plugged, so no need of driver (if any).
It has not worked in Windows Explorer. I meant you could not drag things to the drive because the drive appeared as a DVD-RAM drive. It worked fine with Nero Essential 7.
It made noise, but it burned fast a 4.7gb disc in about 9 minutes at a 8x speed. I have not tried its max speed yet.

this burner is the greatest burner i have had so far. burns whole cd's in 3 minutes, and whole dvd's in 7. the greatest product i've bought so far from Amazon.com
