Yes it is that bad.... December 11, 2008 Agustin M. Nolasco This would be a great idea if it worked. Let me first start off with the good things. It copies text that's on a flat piece of paper pretty well, as long as you keep your nerves and make sure you keep the angle right. Now for the negatives. Say for instance you need to copy text from a book, that's gonna be a problem. A book isn't absolutely flat when you open it up, it has that lump in the middle,...there goes your angle, and lots of errors. So for the students who are thinking of getting this, DON'T. It will drive you crazy. The post before stated that you might not get the expected results if you zoom across the text like a fiend on coffee, well even if you're a zen buddhist monk, you might not be able to keep your hand steady with this thing. Overall, i think this product is a waste of money, and the people who are raving about it,...well they just seem to enthusiastic, they sort of sound like paid commercials. Read all the reviews and make your decision.
Quicklink Elite Pen Scanner February 8, 2008 Cynthia B. Fischer 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Pen too bulky for comfort. Must hold in awkward position for it to read well. Slow, somewhat delayed reaction to see text. Software never set up properly on computer. And, of course, advertising was deceptive. Wish we had never bought it.
JUST RIGHT August 13, 2007 David L. Gran 3 out of 8 found this review helpful
I WAS PLEASED AND SUPRISED TO DISCOVER THAT THE PEN WORKED JUST LIKE THE PRODUCT COPY STATED. EASY TO FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS. EVRYONE CAN USE ONE. HELPS ME SAVE ALL THOSE VALUABLE SNIPPETS OF INFO THAT OTHERWISE END UP ON SCRAPS OF PAPER NEVER TO BE SEEN AGAIN.
this was thebiggest waste of my money this year July 21, 2007 Leonard Harper 2 out of 12 found this review helpful
This product sucked-I kick my self each time I think about how stupied I was to purchase
Not very easy to use; scan results can be erratic June 7, 2007 Sunny 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
Solid and well-built scanner. However, this scanner is very difficult to get reproducible results from. Probably not ready for prime time.
